M U S I C ~ C O N S C I O U S N E S S ~ A E S T H E T I C S

Fughetta Research is the conceptual umbrella under which I devise
and arrange all manner of creative projects. It is itself the hoist &
ladder of Empire building, a measured reflection of mental constructs
that point me toward some semblance of my own naked desires. This
virtual vehicle allows me some degree of anonymity while I figure out
how to be both aggressive and humble in pursuit of strategic bounty.
Fughetta Research was originally created in 1996 to explore ideas
and interesting people coming out of relative obscurity via the Web.
But it soon became apparent the Internet was its own medium: heady,
vaporous and micro-operatic in its potential. In fact, the Internet is
an Obscurist's dream. Wry and haughty can be colored with pastels and
hyper-linked to cheeky icons while the vintage brine of personal
opinion can be uploaded in garish swathes of impertinence.
Fughetta Research is most certainly a Tone of Voice. At once
refreshing and informative, it also reveals a perverse Redneckian
fascination with big words placed in odd meters. O Creator, could
I possibly be any more impressed with myself than I am at this moment?
This and other Existential questions are tackled in Research.
And Fughetta? A small species of variant motifs chasing and fleeing
each other in embryonic foreplay.
The remaining objective of Fughetta Research (besides trying to
capitalize as many words as possible) is to pinpoint a demographic, a
target audience, a constituency, a fanbase for heaven's sake. So let
me encourage you to communicate with me through the Guestbook.
From your feedback I can determine future direction and content.
Perhaps electronic commerce will be subtle and unintrusive enough to
find its way onto these pages, thereby permitting a fiscal exchange.
I promise Fughetta Research will continue to take liberties with my
poetic license and you may continue to take issue with my Pomposity.

                                     Sincerely,

                                     James Richard Cobb III
